As an Artist In Residence at numerous different hospitals and healthcare facilities, I use the transformative power of the arts for healing as contemporary alternative medicine. This is in collaboration with western medicine. I will share art -- making or teaching, to individuals in the hospitals and cancer institutes. I primarily work with individuals as they are undergoing chemotherapy or other infusions, however, I also work with staff -- doctors, nurses, med techs, receptionists, alongside caregivers or even the children of patients.
Our time together sharing art is diverse - sometimes this looks like herbalism and intention jar, sometimes it is watercolor paintings, sometimes it is sharing stories that can bring tears or belly laughs. These moments are completely cherished as part of my artistic practice!
Alongside working one on one with individuals, I also host workshops in healthcare settings for awareness of the Artist In Residence Program as well as sharing artwork with individuals during Cancer Screening events!
