Care is Now
Step into a living, breathing ritual of communal healing. Care is Now is a community-engaged art practice designed to foster connection, mindfulness, and well-being through the sacred act of intention jar making. Throughout the duration of the exhibition, the artist remained present—not as a distant observer but as an active guide—leading participants on a journey of self-exploration through herbs, scent, and intention.
Visitors were invited to immerse themselves in the soothing ritual, beginning with the gentle cleansing of glass jars using incense attuned to either the grounding root chakra or the expansive crown chakra. From there, each individual selected herbs—chosen for their healing properties, joyful essence, or deep-rooted symbolism. Lavender for calm, rose for self-love, sage for clarity, mugwort for dreams—every combination held personal meaning, a reflection of each participant’s desires and emotions.
With the artist’s guidance, the process became an intuitive meditation, a sensory experience where the earthy textures, vibrant colors, and rich aromas of the herbs connected participants to both nature and themselves. Essential oils infused each jar with added intention, while melted wax sealed some vessels, solidifying their purpose. Others remained unsealed—a reminder that intention is fluid, evolving with time and experience.
More than an art piece, Care is Now was a shared act of presence and reflection. It created space for community members to slow down, breathe, and engage in a practice that not only fostered creativity but also deepened their connection to nature. This project was a call to reclaim care—not as something to delay, but as something to embody in the present moment. Each jar became a talisman, a small but powerful reminder that healing, joy, and self-love are always within reach.
Let this be an invitation: to pause, to feel, to create. Care is not a distant promise—it is now.
